M.J. points out that this is literally 'sannin-gumi' which is
something like 'three man mob'--of the yakuza sort. This tends
to emphasize the idea that these three are a group, with responsibilities
to each other, not just three individuals. It might help explain
why Hiei and Gouki feel so betrayed at Kurama wanting to leave
the mob.
